Melissa Johnson Morgan, PhD

Melissa Johnson Morgan is an Adjunct Professor at Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business and a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Business, University of Southern Queensland. She has also taught marketing to undergraduate, MBA, Executive MBA and PhD students in Australia, Malaysia, South America, North America, China and Taipei. Dr. Morgan completed her PhD in the fields of sports marketing and consumer behavior and has a continued interest in both these areas. She also enjoys working in the areas of experiential consumption, eMarketing and eCommerce, and teaching subject matter such as Global Marketing, eCommerce, Marketing Strategy and Consumer Behavior. Dr. Morgan has worked as a consultant for online curriculum development at several major universities both in Australia and the USA. She has published academic papers in European Advances in Consumer Research and Asia Pacific Advances in Consumer Research, Gold Coast.

William A. Reese, Jr., PhD

Bill Reese is a Clinical Professor of Finance at Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business, where he has taught since 1997 and received several teaching awards. He holds a BA from the College of Wooster, an MBA from Virginia Tech and a PhD from the University of Arizona, and has published academic research papers in The Journal of Finance and the Journal of Financial Economics. Dr. Reese has led finance classes in Asia, South America and the U.S., and has taught undergraduate, Master of Finance, MBA and distance-learning courses at Tulane. He has ten years of work experience in insurance and commercial banking, and is a Chartered Financial Consultant. Since 2000, he has worked for the National Football League as a Personal Financial Instructor for the New Orleans Saints.

Russell P. Robins, PhD

Russell Robins is Associate Dean for Executive Education and the Morton A. Aldrich Professor at the A.B. Freeman School of Business, Tulane University. Dr. Robins received his PhD in Economics from the University of California at San Diego. His research and teaching interests include Econometrics, Macroeconomics and Financial Economics. He has previously taught at Harvard University Summer School, University of California at San Diego, San Diego State University and National University. Dr. Robins has also published academic papers in The Journal of Derivatives, Review of Economics and Statistics, Management Science, the Journal of Forecasting and Econometrica, among other journals.

Karen M. Foust, PhD

Karen Foust is a Clinical Professor of Business Administration at Tulane University. She worked in public accounting, private industry and nonprofit organizations for ten years before earning her PhD in accounting. Dr. Foust has won several teaching awards during her decade of teaching. She has published and presented several academic papers in nonprofit accounting, financial accounting, managerial accounting and pedagogical issues.

James H. Biteman, PhD

For the past nine years, James Biteman has taught in international programs delivered to students in their home countries, including countries in Eastern Europe, Mexico, South America, Taiwan and China – and in programs presented “in-house.” Over the past seven years, he has received 16 awards for teaching excellence, including three Outstanding Teacher awards. Dr. Biteman has guided clients and facilitated their management activities, including restructuring operations in Latin America for an international insurance company and strategic planning and implementation assistance to a global provider of oilfield services. Dr. Biteman has also provided valuation assessment and testimony, including damages for restraint of trade, and has carried line management responsibility for global enterprises in multiple industries with responsibilities ranging from management of research and development to plant management.

Dr. Biteman attended Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business Administration, where he received his Doctor of Business Administration. He specialized in Organizational Behavior and wrote his dissertation on the Management of Rapid Organizational Change. Dr. Biteman received his undergraduate degree — a BS in Chemical Engineering — from Purdue University. He has also completed advanced studies in polymer chemistry and education.

Salvatore Cantale, PhD

Salvatore Cantale is a Professor at the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. Dr. Cantale has a bachelor degree in Applied Mathematics and Economics from the University of Catania (Italy), as well as a master’s degree in Management and a PhD in Finance from INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France). Before moving to New Orleans, Dr. Cantale was a member of the faculty at the City University of Hong Kong, and has been visiting faculty at Yale University (New Haven, CT), Erasmus University (The Netherlands) and Fudan University (China). He has also worked in a large investment house and M&A in London. His research interests include the way corporations structure their liabilities and choose their financing options, and his research papers explore these topics. Dr. Cantale also oversees the research department of the Italian Association of Bankers (ABI).

Paul Hooper, PhD

Paul Hooper has taught in Tulane University’s A. B. Freeman School of Business graduate programs since 1998. He currently teaches in the various Executive MBA programs of the Freeman School. Dr. Hooper holds a PhD from Tulane University. He has published five books in the areas of financial accounting, auditing and information systems, and over twenty articles in accounting, business, finance and information systems journals. In addition to Tulane, Dr. Hooper has taught at the Universities of Delaware, Virginia, Missouri and New Orleans, as well as at Pepperdine University.

Mary J. Waller, PhD

Mary Waller is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior in Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business. Dr. Waller earned her PhD in Organizational Behavior from the University of Texas at Austin, her MS in Management Science from the University of Colorado at Denver, and her undergraduate degree in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Oklahoma. Prior to obtaining her graduate degrees, Dr. Waller worked for several firms, including Amoco Corporation, 3M, Delta Air Lines and Columbine Systems.

Dr. Waller’s research focuses on team dynamics under time pressure. Her field research has included studies of commercial airline flight crews, nuclear power plant crews, and air traffic controllers, and has been funded by NASA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Dr. Waller’s research has received awards from both the Academy of Management and the American Psychological Association. Her work has been published in various journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics, the Academy of Management Journal and the Academy of Management Review. She currently serves on the Executive Boards of the Organizational Behavior Division and the Managerial and Organizational Cognition Division of the Academy of Management, and on the Review Boards of the Academy of Management Review and Organization Science journals.

Dr. Waller has taught undergraduate, graduate and executive university classes for over 10 years, covering a wide range of subjects: Leadership, Introduction to Management, Strategic Management of Technology and Innovation, Group Dynamics, Project Management and Organizational Behavior. She has consulted for numerous organizations, including Brackenridge Hospital (Austin, TX), the Federal Aviation Administration, Archer Daniel Midlands Company (ADM) and NASA.

Myke Yest, PhD

Myke Yest holds a BBA in Finance from Stetson University and an MBA from the University of South Florida. He received his PhD from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business in August 2007. As a Clinical Professor at Tulane University, Dr. Yest teaches a variety of graduate and undergraduate finance courses in the A.B. Freeman School of Business and has received a number of teaching awards. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Dr. Yest has spent the past 15 years working in the investments/brokerage industry, associated with a national brokerage firm. He is currently the Assistant Compliance Officer for a New Orleans-based registered investment advisor, specializing in retirement and estate planning for high-wealth individuals.

Venkat Subramaniam, PhD

Venkat Subramaniam is the Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Exxon Professor of Finance at Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business. He earned a PhD in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin, MA and MS degrees in Mathematics from Temple University and IIT-Kanpur (India), and a BS (Honors) in Mathematics from Delhi University. Dr. Subramaniam’s research interests are in corporate finance, and his research articles have been published in many top-tier journals including Management Science, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Law, Economics & Organization, and Journal of Financial Intermediation. Dr. Subramaniam has received several academic awards and honors, including the Freeman School’s Outstanding Young Researcher award, the Wissner Professor of the Year award, the Murphy Teaching Excellence award and the EMBA Professor of the Year award. He was also awarded the President’s Medal for Teaching Excellence – the highest university-wide teaching award at Tulane.

N.K. Chidambaran, PhD

N.K. Chidambaran is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Fordham Business School Market. He received his doctorate from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and a BTech from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He has won several teaching awards and routinely receives very high ratings at the MBA, Executive MBA and undergraduate levels. His research interests are in the fields of corporate finance and financial derivatives. He has published his research in leading academic journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Regulatory Economics, The Journal of Risk and Insurance, and The Journal of Derivatives. His work has also been presented at major research conferences and universities, and has been published in books and conference proceedings.
